The
film is wound onto a cardboard core, which pops onto the plastic
(wooden) dispenser. There is a right way and a wrong way to mount the
film roll onto the dispenser. It is correct to have the film
dispensing from the underside of the roll, this allows for better
control of tension when wrapping goods. It is also easier to tear the
film away when wrapping is finished.
The
film only sticks to itself by molecular attraction. Any necessary
tension is applied to the wrapping by simply touching the film roll
with forefinger and thumb, this acting as a tension brake. The film
roll can be removed from the dispenser for wrapping use where access
is limited.
